Section 504

Section 504 is federal civil rights law that provides protection against discrimination for individuals with disabilities. If your student meets certain criteria, they may be eligible to receive accommodations designed to provide equal access and fairness in general education. My role as Coordinator is to receive referrals, determine eligibility, coordinate processes and training, and provide parents/guardians with procedural safeguards.
If you believe your child may be eligible for 504 services, please send me an email with your concerns and how you feel 504 may benefit them. Please note that 504 services and special education (IEP) services are not the same and can not be implemented at the same time for any student.
