Special Education
At TMSA Triad Elementary, we believe that every child deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential. Our Exceptional Children (EC) Department is dedicated to providing individualized instruction, support, and resources to meet the unique needs of students with disabilities in an inclusive and caring environment.
Our Mission
The mission of TMSA’s Special Education Program is to ensure that all students with exceptional needs receive a free and appropriate public education (FAPE) in the least restrictive environment (LRE). We are committed to helping every student achieve academic success, build independence, and develop lifelong learning skills.
Our Approach
Our EC teachers, general education staff, and specialists work collaboratively to create personalized learning plans that align with each student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP). We use evidence-based instructional strategies, assistive technology, and ongoing progress monitoring to support both academic and social-emotional growth.
Services We Provide
TMSA offers a continuum of services to meet diverse student needs, which may include:
-
Individualized or small-group instruction
-
Classroom accommodations and modifications
-
Speech and language therapy
-
Occupational and physical therapy (as determined by IEP)
-
Behavioral and social-emotional support
-
Collaboration with outside agencies and families
Family Partnership
Families are vital partners in the success of our students. We encourage parents and guardians to take an active role in the IEP process and in their child’s educational journey. Open communication between school and home ensures that each child’s strengths and needs are fully supported.
Our Commitment
TMSA Triad Elementary follows all state and federal guidelines under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act. Our goal is to create an equitable, inclusive, and nurturing environment where all students can learn, grow, and lead with confidence.
