At TMSA Triad Elementary, we believe competition is more than winning — it’s about learning, teamwork, and growth. Our Competitive Teams program gives students the opportunity to apply what they learn in class to real-world challenges, encouraging them to think critically, collaborate effectively, and celebrate the joy of discovery.

Through a variety of academic and creative competitions, our students strengthen essential 21st-century skills — problem-solving, communication, leadership, and perseverance — while proudly representing TMSA Triad at local and state levels.

Learning Beyond the Classroom

Our competitive teams are an extension of TMSA’s STEAM and leadership-based learning approach. Students work together to investigate problems, test ideas, and design innovative solutions that reflect the values of curiosity, responsibility, and resilience.

Our Competitive Teams

Students may participate in a variety of academic and enrichment competitions, including:

  • Science Olympiad – Hands-on science and engineering challenges that spark innovation.

  • MathCounts – Collaborative problem-solving and mathematical reasoning at its best.

  • Robotics & Coding Challenges – Building, programming, and testing robots through teamwork and design thinking.

  • Spelling Bee – Expanding vocabulary, focus, and confidence on stage.

  • Art and Essay Contests – Expressing ideas and creativity through writing and design.

Each competition encourages students to take ownership of their learning and explore how knowledge can make a difference in their world.
